And thank goodness for that So whats the fact and whats the fiction then?Well unsurprisingly it all starts with the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel Welcome to Naked At The Movies Chris Pratt IS definitely a go for the next Guardians movie slated for a 2017 release. Hes actually signed for at least two more Guardian sequels in fact. BUT despite some reports saying its a done deal hes NOT committed-or apparently even in talks-to be the next Indiana Jones. Nor is he set to be in the planned Ghostbusters OR Knight Rider remakes. Of course never say never right?In a different franchise its being reported that Matthew McConaughey is being courted to costar as Norman Osborn in the NEW Spider-Man movie. Thats Green Goblin to those of you who arent fully up on your Spidey characters. Word is that Marvel and Sony want the bankable McConaughey to play baddie opposite rumored new Spider-Man Asa Butterfield. Yeah there are a lot of rumored and reporteds in there but details on the new movie are being kept under wraps.Details ARE trickling out about the in-production movie from The Lonely Island guys Andy Samberg Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone. The comedy is called Connor4Real and stars Samberg as a RAPPER who has to reunite with his old BOY BAND when his newest album flops. Its apparently a parody of the recent concert-documentaries from singers like Katy Perry and Justin Bieber. Sarah Silverman Imogen Poots and Tim Meadows are also on board with Judd Apatow producing.The parent company of Rockstar Games has filed suit against the BBC to SHUT DOWN filming of their Grand Theft Auto movie. The made-for-television drama currently titled Game Changer focuses on the battle between Rockstar and Jack Thompson a noisy opponent of violence in videogames. Rockstar is charging trademark infringement so its possible the producers will have to use a fake game name. However its unlikely the project could actually be blocked.And NOW its time for a peek at the first official trailer for The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Its based on the early-60s TV show of the same name and is largely faithful to the source. Its still the early 60s and it still follows brilliant CIA agent Napoleon Solo-played here by Henry Cavill-and top KGB agent Illya Kuryakin-played by Armie Hammer. The flick is co-written and directed by Guy Ritchie who knows his way around a stylish action-comedy. His two Sherlock Holmes movies grossed more than a BILLION dollars worldwide. Wawrinka played the match of his life en route to a 4-set victory against the world_s number one ranked player. It_s only the second Grand Slam win of Wawrinka_s career. Djokovic has had some really tough luck at Roland Garros - he_s been the runner-up three years in a rowMeanwhile it was a weekend to forget for Tiger Woods at the Memorial Tournament in Ohio. Tiger shot a brutal 85 on Saturday marking the worst single round of his career That put him in last place in the field of 71 players who made the cut. As a result he had to play the final round all by himself Tiger shot a forgettable 74 on Sunday to finish with 302 strokes on the weekend - also the worst total of his career. In Formula One there wasn_t much excitement at the Canadian Grand Prix but I_m sure Lewis Hamilton didn_t mind The Mercedes driver cruised from start to finish for an easy win in Montreal. The only car even close to him belonged to his teammate Hamilton and Nico Rosberg took the first two spots for Mercedes and both padded their comfy leads in the F1 driver standings. It was an emotional win on the NASCAR track for Martin Truex Jr. He_d led the most laps in the last three races but had come up empty. That all changed Sunday at Pocono Raceway. Truex took the checkered flag and then had an emotional celebration in Victory Lane with his girlfriend who_s been fighting cancer. Truex was mobbed by rival drivers who wanted to congratulate him on the win which he says was easily the biggest of his career.And the 37-year wait is over On Saturday American Pharoah accomplished one of the rarest feats in sports: winning horse racing_s Triple Crown American Pharoah went wire-to-wire in front of a roaring crowd in the Belmont Stakes. Because they_ve either got their Star Wars history wrong or they_re just plain racist.Here_s the backstory: JJ Abrams_ first official trailer for the movie was released and in case you_ve been sequestered for the last week here_s how it starts.And well amid the fanboy excitement and wailing about having to wait another FULL YEAR for the movie to come out there was a... disturbance in the Force. More then a FEW people were displeased that the stormtrooper was BLACKFirst off let_s skip over the very distinct possibility that this guy isn_t an actual stormtrooper and is an infiltrator in a uniform. We_ll assume he is in fact a full-on stormtrooper. What exactly would be the problem with him being black? If anyone_s answer is just well it_s just wrong then they fall under the racist umbrella and their boobery is self-evident.But if their answer is there are no black stormtroopers because they_re all clones of Jango Fett and Jango Fett wasn_t *white* but he_s not BLACK well that_s just wrong Allow me to give a Kat Curtis-approved correction.Yes stormtroopers were at one time clones. But that had CHANGED between the events of the Phantom Menace and A New Hope Chancellor Palpatine opened the ranks to recruits and conscripts. Remember?It_s entirely likely that there_s a veritable rainbow under those stormtrooper uniforms. After all the humanoid characters in the Star Wars universe aren_t really differentiated by what we modern earthlings call race. A long time ago in a galaxy far far away a human was a human. So no there_s no real reason a stormtrooper couldn_t be black. Or Asian. And anyone who says otherwise is our Boob of the Week

He met up with Cuban leader Raul Castro on Monday to discuss trade and political reform. He also plans to meet separately with political dissidents of the Cuban government. The visit is part of the Obama administration_s campaign to renew US-Cuban relations after a 50-year trade embargo. Another sign of strengthening ties: US businesses are lining up to get a piece of the action Starwood Hotels has announced plans to take over the operations of THREE existing Cuban hotels. The company says it will use locally sourced materials to offer an authentic experience. Fellow hotelier Marriott International is also in discussions to gain a foothold while home rental website Airbnb says it has now had 4000 listings since it launched in Cuba last year. And according to a new global risk assessment a Donald Trump presidency is one of the BIGGEST dangers facing the world right now The report from research firm the Economist Intelligence Unit warns that a Trump White House COULD disrupt the economy as well as raise political and security risks for the US. The prospect of a President Trump was EVEN rated higher than the risks associated with the UK leaving the European Union. Here_s the story. Tom Holland is your new Peter Parker As I just mentioned he won the role after an exhausting world wide search. Holland is largely unknown in North America but has three movies being released this year including Ron Howards In the Heart of the Sea. Well see Hollands webslinger debut in next years Captain America: Civil War with the rebooted Spider-Man hitting screens in July 2017.Movie fans have spoken and Indiana Jones is the greatest movie character EVER. Empire Magazines poll put the swashbuckling archaeologist played by Harrison Ford ahead of superspy James Bond with another of Harrison Fords roles Han Solo in third. For TELEVISION characters Breaking Bads Walter White took top spot over Tyrion Lannister of Game of Thrones and Homer Simpson. If you had to guess whod be behind a biopic of comedian Groucho Marx you probably wouldnt come up with Rob Zombie. But hes doing pre-production on a film based on the book Raised Eyebrows: My Years Inside Grouchos House. It turns out Zombie is actually a longtime fan of Marx. He describes the project as Grouchos Sunset Boulevard a sad funny and very dark tale of the funnyman.And great news for fans of the British version of The Office David Brent will be back in Life On The Road a MOVIE spin-off to hit screens late next year. The film will continue in the doc-style format of the TV show following Brent-played by Ricky Gervais-as he leaves the corporate world to take his band on tour in search of rock ‘n roll stardom. Gervais will write direct produce AND star.Now let_s have an early look at the upcoming action-adventure blockbuster Everest. Its based on the true story of the 1996 Mount Everest disaster where a massive blizzard killed eight climbers. The films A-list cast includes heavyweights Josh Brolin Keira Knightley Jake Gyllenhaal and Sam Worthington. With the country_s civil war death toll already topping 60-thousand Assad made it clear that the violence would continue as long as there was even one so-called terrorist left in Syria. Eila?EA) Kat in his first major speech in more than six months Syrian leader Bashar al Assad was greeted by cheers and applause at the Damascus Opera House. The President vowed to keep fighting Syrian rebel forces whom he referred to as murderous criminals. Assad offered up a peace plan that included a reconciliation conference new elections and a revised constitution. He spoke out against Western nations that have been supporting and funding opposition soldiers calling them Western puppets.EA) Kat Assad also cryptically added that his regime would quote negotiate with the master not with the slave. KC) It_s unfortunate Eila but this struggle is clearly nowhere near over. So how has the international community responded to the speech?EA) As you can imagine it hasn_t been very friendly. The US State Department says that Assad is detached from reality. And the European Union is sticking by its guns and claiming that Assad must step aside and allow for political transition. KC) Is there any chance this can be resolved with Assad staying in office?EA) It doesn_t look like it. The Syrian National Coalition - the group officially recognized by the US and EU - says they_ll accept nothing less than the President_s resignation. KC) And the beat goes on. Thanks very much Eila.
