Milena Dvorska was born on September 7, 1938 in Prostejov to the family of a seamstress and a clerk in a malt house. She has been interested in theater since childhood and has performed with amateurs. Nevertheless, she was to become a nurse and began studying at a medical school. During a guest appearance in Prostejov, she was noticed by Jan Werich, who remembered her when director Borivoj Zeman was looking for an actress for the character of Princess Maruљka in the newly prepared fairy tale WAS ONE KING
